My Thoughts On IT…

Brian Lewis's Thoughts on all things Information Technology related

There are two very cool enhancements in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 that were detailed today. They are both very important technological enhancements to the services offered in Windows Server!  They are:

  • Remote FX: With Microsoft RemoteFX, users will be able to work remotely in a Windows Aero desktop environment, watch full-motion video, enjoy Silverlight animations, and run 3D applications all with the fidelity of a local-like performance. Watch the video here – http://bit.ly/c5xoSE
  • Hyper-V Dynamic Memory: With Hyper-V Dynamic Memory, Hyper-V will enable greater virtual machine density suitable for servers and VDI deployments. I am always asked when this is coming. Now you know – it’s in SP1!

I have been asked for the PowerPoints from my March 9th and 11th presentations:

  • Understanding Azure for the IT Pro
  • Hyper-v building the Ultimate test network
  • Lite touch Deployment of Windows 7 Using the MDT 2010.
